Adventure 2: "Hamlet"

While Watson and I sat reading the daily paper there was a knock at the door. It was Sara the time traveling Journalist from Ms. Sasser’s English class. Sara along with her colleges was headed to Denmark in the late 15^th century to Elsinore Castle, the home of King Hamlet. She asked for us to accompany her and her team so that we could investigate the cloud of mystery surrounding the case that had been made oh so popular in English literature.  After pondering briefly I decided to take the case as my newest Adventure.

We travailed to Denmark in the year of 1589 A.D. where we were to find Sara’s friend William who had traveled in time a few days before us to scout ahead and gather intelligence from the locals before we arrived. We took very few luxuries from home with us on our trip seeing that I planned to have the case solved within two or three days. Oh how I was wrong, we ended up spending a total of six days in that reached place. I now see where the term “Mid-Evil” was coined, for that place was the essence of evil. We knew from reading the scripts of Hamlet the overall sequence of events. Hamlet had seen his fathers “ghost” and was out to seek revenge on his killer witch he believed was Claudius, his uncle.  My thoughts were to follow the actions of Fortinbras along with the two ambassadors from England at the end of the play. I hope to prove my theory of how Fortinbras was behind it all in a massive plot to seize the thrown of Hamlets homeland, Denmark.

I asked Watson to go with William to the province where Olivia was sent so that he could investigate her death while I spent time at the dulling ground where Hamlet and Laertes, Olivia’s brother, fought. After five days Watson returned with William where they had come to the conclusion that Olivia was forced into the river where she drowned. Knowing that she could not swim her trusted bodyguards, which also happened to be some of Fortinbras’ troops forced her to wash clothes in a deep river. This was concurrent with eye witness reports and trace evidence that was still at the scene.

After only the first day I had rounded up the locals and interviewed them and they only confirmed my theory. They said that the Ambassadors had actually been in the village for some time as if they were waiting for some big event. Well as one could guess making my theory stick, as if there was the World Court that charges could be brought. And to add to the case I caught up with Fortinbras himself, I found it intriguing that the resembled the late Hamlet the 1^st in both height and weight. Also I found in his personal possession white facial powder. I thought why would one have such powder? Then using deductive reasoning that it was him, Fortinbras that dressed as the late King Hamlet Ghost and appeared to the young Hamlet.  

But as I said what could one do in such times. How could this tretrious plot to overthrow this faction.

What Are You Going, Where Have You Been

Victims Name: Connie Holyfield

 

Connie a 15 year old female from Mid-Town, Ohio was reported missing from her home at 123 Early Street on the evening of Tuesday May the 21, 1966 by her mother Jane Holyfield. Mrs. Holyfield stated that the family had left that morning to go to a family barbeque and left her youngest daughter, Connie, at the family home to spend the day to herself. When they returned home the front door was open and Connie was not there. After further investigation by the Mid-Town Police Department in 1966 they found blood in the kitchen by the only phone in the house. Connie was considered a missing person until February 2^nd of 2013. The local police did an investigation but no evidence was found to support a case and there were not any suspects. However, on February 2^nd of 2013 an old warehouse was set to be destroyed in the next town over, Grand River, Ohio where a body was found. After forensic testing, the results showed that the skeletal remains were Connie Holyfield’s. There was a note found in the back pocket of the clothes that she was wearing that is believed to be written by Connie in an attempt to describe the actions leading up to her death. This is when the local law enforcement called Watson and myself to the scene.

             First I must see the crime scene…both the house and Arnold’s car…because we do not know where the car was, I issued a State wide BOLO (be on the lookout) for the car, a Gold Convertible unknown make/unknown model… as my Law Enforcement counterparts began looking for the car I paid a visit to the family home where Connie may or may not have been assaulted and stabbed. At the same time I called for my accomplice, Dr. Watson, to drive out to where Connie’s family had their get-together to pick up Connie’s mother and older sister June for questioning.

 I started by pulling all the records from local and area Law Enforcement that described vehicles that met the same description. Because all the records from 1995 and back were kept in storage, it took time to find what I was looking for. But eventually, I found a traffic ticket from the Grand River Police Department (the imaginary Town next to the one where Connie lived) that described the car to a “T”. Officer Jones pulled over a 1959 Gold Chevy convertible for speeding on 19 May 1966, just a few days before Connie went missing. In the description portion of the ticket stated the car had words scratched into the driver’s door. The drivers name was Arnold Wisenheimer, a White Male that had a history of violent crimes and burglary. We tracked him down to his current residence, Plot 126 Harlem Cemetery. He had died in May of 1999 of a heart attack. This is where we hit our final dead in. The case was closed and we could notify the family so that they could have closure.
